Lebanon Ford’s Jeff Cryder and Ford Life contributing writer Samantha Roberts discuss the newest entire into the Mustang family, the Mustang Boss 302. Though equipped with the same 5.0L “coyote” engine found in the GT it’s been race altered to bring it from 412 bhp to 444 bhp.

Though the Boss 302 has been designed as a track Mustang it has also acts as a great everyday vehicle. Owners will receive two separate keys: A black key for everyday vehicle usage and a red key which will transform the Boss into race mode. Features such as tightened suspension and enabled launch control will be available to the driver. Ford hasn’t announced the official release date of the Mustang Boss 302 into your Lebanon Ford showroom but there are rumors of a 2011 spring release. Stay tuned.

2011 Shelby GT350: More Horsepower For One Wild Mustang

The goal for the 2011 Shelby GT350 was a simple one according to John Luft, president of Shelby American, the wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International that was responsible for putting this road rocket together: “Build the ultimate small-block muscle car.”

And with final performance specs now available on the new GT350, it looks like “mission: accomplished” for Luft & Co.

The limited-edition coupe is offered in two separate flavors for enthusiasts, with the key difference being enhancements to Ford’s powerful yet efficient 5.0-liter V8—the same mill that motivates the 2011 Mustang GT. In standard Shelby GT350 trim, the engine is good for 430 hp, but that can be upped to 525 horses in the supercharged model and an insane 624 hp with the optional “R” tune. The bottom line?

Fuel To The Fire: Ford Racing Now Offers Supercharger For Mustang

Ford has answered the prayers of Ford Mustang owners by adding more power(and greater efficiency) to the 2011 model. However, if that improvement just wasn’t enough, Ford Racing will also being offering a new supercharger package for the 5.0-liter V8 engine found in the Mustang GT.

In total, three supercharger packages will be available, but all will be based on the same setup, with a 2.3-liter Whipple twin-screw supercharger, air-to-liquid intercooler and 47 lb/hr fuel injectors. The base package will feature an attractive warranty as well as long as it’s installed by a Ford or Lincoln dealer.

“Superchargers are the ultimate in power upgrades for Mustang enthusiasts,” says George Goddu, Ford Racing Performance Group Manager. “Calibration for a modern V8 engine, especially one with twin-independent variable cam timing, is incredibly complex. Production calibration for the 5.0 engine took 19 months. Having that knowledge base to work from is a huge advantage.

The base package will be able to deliver 525 horsepower and 470 pound-feet torque. Upgrading to the middle package will deliver a staggering 624 horsepower and 536 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the last option for owners is to choose a tuner kit that allows for greater customization.
